You Are Not Your Own Worst Enemy
Why is it that your things to do list tends to grow bigger and bigger and the amount of things you actually finish tends to get smaller and smaller? If you are human like me, you know what it feels like when you can’t seem get anything done and there’s so much left to do… leaving you discouraged and wanting to just quit and forget about it all…
Well, most people do quit and forget about it all, but that’s the easy way out and not what I want to do… age old wisdom tells us that the easy way out leads you nowhere.
So why is it getting harder and harder to get anything done and be productive?
Here’s why…. we only have 24 hours in a day and you can’t possibly budget time keep up with streaming video, facebook, twitter, forums, blogs, digg, linkedin, technorati, newsletters, phone calls, myspace, squidoo, article marketing, link building, and the astonishing number of social networks that seem to appear overnight.
So by the time you were done setting up your MySpace page a new (and better social network) shows up and you now have a dozen new unproductive things to do.
So here’s the reality of this new age marketing… most of these sites are not worthy of your attention.
The more I get involved with online marketing the more I grow convinced that the ultimate enemy of the online marketer is the constant growing number of pure gut-wrenching distractions that do nothing but enslave you and steal your time away from family, friends, and other fun stuff.
The best thing to do is to eliminate your non-productive activities from your things to do list (and keep eliminating it until you have nothing in the list…. that’s my goal).
“Perfection Is Achieved, Not When There Is Nothing More To Add, But When There Is Nothing Left To Take Away” – Antoine De Saint Exupery
With the internet you have all the information you could ever want completely free. The drawback is you must filter out the bad information to get the good information which is why internet gurus can command hundreds and thousands of dollars for information that is readily available online somewhere.
Here’s an example… In my experience there are Seven Key System You Must Implement As An Internet Network Marketer:
- Market Research
- Traffic Getting Strategy
- Conversion Tracking
- Split Testing Key Sales Action Steps
- Compelling Sales Copy
- Automated Email Follow-Up
- Business Partnerships
That’s it, just seven. You can grow a successful business online if you focus on these 7 things. Spending time on all these social networks can help some of these, but they require your time. Since your business should be as automated as possible… you have no business building up social media until you build your foundation… Then you an jump on to other things to expand your empire.
You might have a facebook, twitter, YouTube, and a good blog going, with good SEO practices, but if you have yet to master any of these seven essentials, then you are throwing away more business than you might possibly imagine… lots more!
This may just be the reason why your business seems to be going nowhere despite all of your “hard work”!
Now, don’t be discouraged… doing this can be complicated and every single one of them is harder than it sounds. Take copywriting for example… you can not systematize such a thing as it requires talent and talent is expensive (try a couple grand for a good copy writer). But this is no reason to beat yourself up. Less than 1% of network marketers have this handled.
Oh and guess what?
The people who have these 7 things handled kick butt. They grow empires almost effortlessly and they dominate markets. Their ability to enter new markets grows EXPONENTIALLY and yes, they are feared by competitors as they are difficult to knock down. When economic trends knock people down, they are the ones left standing and positioned to amass an even greater empire… a kingdom that will live for decades, hundreds of years.
It’s no wonder why it is easier to be #1 than to be in any other place. Opportunities come to those who need it less while the rest struggle just to survive.
Well… here’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of a mastermind group of network marketers. If you know of anyone who lives in the Phoenix metro area, then send them over to our meet ups and they can in turn share their knowledge with you.
