Why People Struggle To Earn MLM Commissions

I was recently talking to a friend who is trying to help grow a community that educates people on dental care through some government grants and programs.

I had never heard of such thing and was completely oblivious to that little niche industry, but I learned a big lesson that I want to share with you…

In the MLM industry, many distributors come and go and few ever stick around and find success. After being involved in the industry for a number of years, I’m beginning to see some patterns emerge and can tell you one thing that successful network marketers share is that they believe in the product and the company they are affiliated with.

Most network marketers join a company mostly on the basis that they are going to make money by selling stuff. It doesn’t matter what the stuff is, it just matters that they are going to make money. On the other hand, successful network marketers, tend to believe strongly on their products that making money is not their priority. Their priority is usually centered around how they are going to change people’s lives by introducing them to a product they need and a great company they can become a part of.

It’s not about pushing a powerful juice with antioxidants to make money, but about helping someone improve their nutrition and live a better lifestyle.

There are so many different companies using the MLM model and I think just about anyone can find a way to find something they believe or are just passionate about. I think your enthusiasm about the topic will play a big role on how you come across when you offer your product for sale.

If you think this is not as important as it sound, think again… this is nothing new.

Rhetorical TriangleAristotle came up with his own theory and way of persuading. You may have heard of the Rhetorical Triangle.

Logos stood for the logical appeal. You had to tell people the facts, statistics and mention all the logical reasons why they should agree with you or buy from you.

Pathos was the pathetic appeal and I mean pathetic as in the values and emotions that the audience has. In other words, you must talk to the emotional appeal of the prospect.

Ethos is what brings it all in and can be the determining factor of how well one is able to persuade others and sell others. It is the audiences perception of the speaker’s character.

See if you go around telling people that they are going to make a lot of money in your MLM, but they perceive you to be just some MLM lunatic pushing a business opportunity, then people will likely NOT do business with you. On the other hand, if you are enthusiastic about the product you sell and people perceive you to be someone who cares about the product and the customer (most importantly), then they’ll be more open to doing business with you. Any business coach and marketer can teach you the logical and emotional appeals you must tell your audience, but only you can become a character that people admire and like to do business with.
