The Fastest Way To Succeed In MLM

Multi-Level Marketing beats just about any other business venture when you are starting a business for the first time… but unfortunately just like any other business 9 out of 10 people fail within their first year and out of the surviving force 9 out of 10 people fail within the next five years…

Don’t take it from me, head over to the government’s HUD website and you’ll see for yourself those figures written clear in black and white…

But I’m about to hopefully impact those numbers…

Here’s the sales story that changed my life… nothing to do with MLM, yet everything to do with my success in MLM

A real estate sales coach once pounded into my head “Here’s How You Get A Person To Hand You As Much Money As You Want… You Find A Problem, You Frustrate Them With The Problem, And You Offer Them The Solution”

That statement right there knocked me down for a few days as I sat and thought about how long I should have known that, yet I was completely unaware… sort of… but see the impact muddled me because I had sold Kirby vacuum cleaners when I was 18 and the presentation I had memorized followed this exact principle… yet I didn’t know it at the time!! How could that possibly be??

“Your vacuum sucks” oh look, I just proved it… look at the consequences… frustrate, frustrate, frustrate…

“Stop the suffering, you can own this for the low price of $1,800.00…”

So I knew right away this principle worked, but what really got me was that this had been in front of me all this time and I was not aware of it. This is the foundation of just about every business I know and it is definitely the foundation for virtually all sales positions…

Now here’s where this comes into play in MLM…

MLM is about sales. Two different markets. You sell the product and you sell the business opportunity. The number one reason why people fail in MLM is because they don’t separate these two. What’s worse, they try to sell the product through the business opportunity and they turn into this MLM ogre doing whatever they can to recruit their family and friends, cold calling and doing all other kinds of grunt prospecting…

Now I’m going to make a quick suggestion…

Wouldn’t it be better to only talk to people who had already raised their hand and said “Yes, I’m looking for a product just like yours…” or “Yes, I’m looking for a business opportunity…”

What if I told you there was a way to not only talk to those people, but to position yourself so that they find you instead and so that they are the ones to initiate the conversation?

I’m talking about direct response marketing… the greatest tool ever invented for us salespeople…

Here’s what a battle would look like between someone who doesn’t use this tool vs someone who uses it… It’s like a troop of soldiers armed with sticks and rocks forging ahead as they get slaughtered in droves by machine guns, tanks and artillery fire…

While you go out to talk to 100 people (Cause you made your list right?)… I send out thousands of postcards in place of me that tell people the exact same message I would tell them in person… the result?

I get call backs only from the people who are already interested in what I’ve got to offer… and, check this out… Talk to less people and make more money… in other words, work less and make more money…

All I have to do then is frustrate, frustrate, frustrate and offer my solution for the low price of “whatever I want!!”

Now this brings me to the next point…

The Fastest Way To Succeed In MLM

It could be restated as the fastest way to succeed in business and that is to learn from the lesson above… in one word it is called leverage…

Marketing is one way I duplicate myself without having to hire people, but I learned long ago that as soon as you go into business you turn yourself into the most overworked, underpaid psycho lunatic everyone is looking at waiting to see you fall flat on your face… I’m not even exaggerating…

Think you did a good thing by quitting your job?… well maybe, but just like most of us are “unaware” of what we are doing… you might realize that you’ve just given yourself over 20 different jobs!!

Let’s see…

  1. You have to handle your own marketing
  2. You have to do admin paperwork
  3. You have to be your own website designer
  4. You have to be your own bookkeeper
  5. You have to be your own tax and legal advisor
  6. Your own manager
  7. Your own receptionist
  8. Your own business developer
  9. Your own salesman
  10. Customer service

Oh you want to hire someone to help? guess what you are your own Human Resource department… that’s how it starts out, until you leverage yourself and hire people or outsource certain tasks…

If you take nothing else from this entire website take this… The fastest way to succeed in MLM is to create systems that allow you to step out of your business…
