Heralding in 2010 with five years of successful business as one of the fastest growing multi-level marketing companies this century, MonaVie are undoubtedly one industry leader in the competitive market of wellness product manufacturers and suppliers that display a rare quality of stamina required to stand out among the opposition.

A subsidiary company of Monarch Health Services, MonaVie provide the consumer with a selection of healthy and nutritional fruit drinks with the common focus upon high antioxidant content, and also the home-based business owner with an investment opportunity to market the said products as an independent sales representative. Veering away from the physical business related topics though, it is first more important to gain an understanding of the actual products in question before commenting on the company as a whole.

The ‘crown jewel’ ingredient of MonaVie products is the celebrated use of the Brazilian açai berry in every blend of juice available, along with numerous other beneficial fruits high in antioxidant properties. This exotic fruit certainly has been proven to contain high levels of nutrients required to maintain a healthy body, but this is where the topic of being beneficial begins to actually become debatable.

Their three predominant products available are Mona Vie Active Juice, aimed towards healthy joints in the body, Mona Vie Pulse for the heart and lowering cholesterol levels, and Mona Vie EMV Energy Juice directed at recharging the body and mind with sustained energy release. Each juice blended from up to 19 various fruits have the intention of promoting good health through the extensive use of antioxidants, however, although claims have been made by Mona Vie and numerous other wellness product manufacturers that antioxidants are essential for the body’s needs, the actual source of the nutrient content and consumption levels are somewhat there for dispute.

Scientific research has shown for decades that antioxidants are necessary to encourage well-being in an individual, though like any other intake of food stuffs the rule of moderation applies. The abundance of concentrated nutritional drinks available on today’s market have been, and will remain the subject of controversy with respect to the claims of how beneficial they can be towards ones body. In particular, with regards to the company Mona Vie, this is shown by countless mixed reviews from people who have experienced the product first hand.

What must be understood before we analyze the worth of the actual product is that every human being is ‘an individual’. Certain things affect different people in different ways. Excessive intake of one substance to one person may react to another with dire consequences depending on the assorted lifestyles that everyone leads, and not forgetting the country of origin relating to ones ethnic background being another key factor in the diversity of evolution.

So before we can literally taint a product before even giving it a chance to see whether it works or not, the lifestyle of the individual must be put to question; along with for what result does the individual expect to gain from its use. The açai berry may be a common source of nutrition to a native Brazilian, but this is a process of mortal familiarity handed down by generations through naturalization. To someone unaccustomed with the levels of nutrition contained in the berries, certain side effects may be inevitably experienced.

In relation to Mona Vie, as mentioned previously the focus on their juices is the high levels of antioxidants. The purpose of these is to replenish the body with the essential nutrients required to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nothing more, nothing less. They do not produce weight loss which many people are led to believe, and what Mona Vie actually do not endorse, but they do provide a possibly ideal supplement to improving ones diet. If a person practically lives on junk food, then the addition of these nutrients can hypothetically balance out the consumption of necessary nutrients that the body requires, within reason of course.

With a regular recommended daily dosage of approximately 100ml of Mona Vie juices, a person can instantly administer the necessary nutritional values to that equivalent of consuming a small basket of fruit. The benefit of consumption in this concentrated form may be sympathetic with the hectic lifestyles in which some people choose to lead in this day and age, but unfortunately convenience doesn’t come without its sacrifices over taste and price.

Another questionable aspect of these health juices relates to the actual contents. The primary hub around which Mona Vie’s marketing strategy revolves is with the extensive use of the imported South American açai berry. This ingredient has ultimately been proven to contain high levels of antioxidants; although so do many of the other fruits used in the blend of their juices, some of which being remarkably higher.

The forgivable deceit however lies with the marketing strategy of these additional ingredients. It is considerably easier to market a product that gives the consumer the impression that it is of extraordinary and a somewhat unobtainable nature than it is to market a product that can come from ingredients found in ones own backyard. Try selling pears or strawberries to a Brazilian and you’ll get an idea in retrospect.

The result in this leads to a more expensive product of sought after demand due to its imported nature of exotic content, other than a product which could be just as beneficial and cheaper, but less glamorous as one which would contain mere pomegranate, blueberry, or cranberry. These are in fact other additional  ingredients contained in Mona Vie juices which could be contributing more to the antioxidant levels than the açai berry, as even though we are told of its presence, we are not told of the quantity of its volume to the blend.

With this marketing blend of hard facts and half truths designed to leave a generalized impression on which the consumer may elaborate upon at their own will, Mona Vie has definitely concocted the appropriate strategy to endorsing their products with perhaps deservedly and successful results. The sophisticated sleek packaging and branding gives a stylish impact and appeal of status, whereas the numerous uses of ingredients give way to an unparalleled sense of conviction and thorough research into the formula. Whether it works or not however is another matter for concern where the individual can only truly find out for themselves through personal experience.
