MLM Leads – Strategy Beats Technique!
Most people in this industry think learning one technique will solve all of their business problems. The most common one they are constantly trying to battle with is generating mlm or home based business leads. This is a fatal mistake. Your focus should not be technique, but strategy.
Generating a lead is simple. You simply write an ad and you expose the ad to a target market.
Most people don’t take the time to learn this basic principle, but they are spending all of their time trying to figure out how to use Twitter or Facebook to build their business.
Look around my blog, there is a great amount of information to help you grow your business, but most people will miss the important stuff. In my email newsletter I have a series of videos where I explain the fundamental principles to generate leads and recruit sponsors into your downline. I get emails from people telling me to get to the point and give them the “secret”. I send them tips on using article marketing to generate traffic and leads, but because they didn’t pay attention to the videos, the technique is useless.
Let me explain this on another industry since we are often not able to see fault within ourselves…
Take the stand up comedian. The beginner comedian wants to learn the jokes because they think that learning more of them (techniques) will make them famous or get them more laughs, and ultimately more money. How many times have we heard a friend try to duplicate a joke told by Robin Williams, Pablo Francisco or Katt Williams, only to get a bunch of blank stares?
Why is that?…
Well, we don’t really laugh at the jokes as much as we laugh at the character. It’s not the joke that’s funny, it’s the person who is funny. If they develop the right character they can make just about any joke work.
Now, take the Magician for example. Most beginners think that in order to become a good magician they need to learn the magic tricks. It almost seems like it, but in reality what the magician needs to learn is presentation, story telling and distraction. Then the tricks are easy to do.
Well similarly if you can learn the fundamentals of attraction marketing and lead generation you can take just about any medium like Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, etc., and generate network marketing leads for your MLM.
One last thing… there’s more to business than just generating leads. You’ll need to have an overall strategy. How will you train your downline, increase revenue without doing additional marketing, and most importantly get your business to run on autopilot so it doesn’t depend on you? That’s strategy and it should be your focus.
